Why are we working?

But why are we working? Ever wondered how hard we work to fill our lives with luxuries that we hardly have time to enjoy? LOOK AT IT THIS WAY. The luxury Cars, Land Cruisers, RAV4's, BMW's, Mercedes that are parked 8 hours, driven 30min to the office and 30min back home And whilst we sit on a not-so-comfortable chair in a small room called an office, your 7 bedroom mansion lies idle with only the maid enjoying herself to the 'bacon and egg breakfast' relaxing on that very expensive leather sofa that we only sit on when we get home... and being so tired we just doze off to sleep anyway. When tired of work she takes a break turns on the TV and spoils herself with the fully subscribed TV, of course if she feels bored she can always turn on that brand name sound system and swing a bit... And whilst all that is happening where are you... you are eating a cheap take away lunch everyday and oh by the way there is no breakfast really, because its just a cup of

Door Closing- by Napoleon Hill.

Consider the rather serious problems which arise in one's mind in connection with disappointments and failures of the past, and the broken hearts that occur as a result of the loss of the material things or the loss of friends or loved ones. Self-discipline is the only real solution for such problems. It begins with the recognition of the fact that there are only two kinds of problems: those you can solve and those you can't solve. The problems which can be solved should immediately cleared by most practical means available, and those which have no solution should be put out of your mind and forgotten. Let us think, for a minute, about this process of forgetting. Refer it as closing the door on some unpleasantness which is disturbing your equilibrium. Self-discipline, which means mastery over all emotions, can enable you to close the door between yourself and the unpleasant experience of the past. You must close the door tightly and lock it securely, so that there is no possibi

The untouchable Truth.

If we believe that we are going to find the truth here, in these writings; we may be wrong. If we think that we will find the "ultimate truth" in any religion; we may be wrong as well. There is no dogma or belief that could convey the truth. If we think that this "truth" could be put in words as to "tell everyone what it is," we will make a fool of ourselves. If we think that we know God because we have an "experience" of God; we may need to think it twice: Knowing is not a description. Knowing is not a definition. Knowing is not analysis. Knowing is not talking about it. Knowing is being it, for only in being something, we can know and that cannot be described. As long as we are cluttered with thoughts and thinking, as long as our minds are not "pure" with emptiness, crystal clear without the clutter of our own past experiences, our own judgments and preconceptions, we cannot know anything at all. We can just describe, rep

Learn from Dolphin.

Traders encroach walkways, authorities demand bribes to provide a birth certificate, police force misuses its authority, politicians are steeped in deep corruption without bothering about the welfare of the people …..everywhere, the world is full of anti-social elements. When I think of them, my blood boils and my brain heats up like it is filled with hot acids. My limbs tremble and I get tense! Can no one reform them? There are many who pour out their frustrations like this. They get angry and their blood pressure shoots up! There are others who get depressed and go into their shells. Their frustration is legitimate. 'If I see anti-social elements, my anger shoots up and mind gets disturbed.' We have to pause and reflect for a moment as to how the increase in our blood pressure would help in reforming these anti-social elements. A busy marketing Guru was waiting to board a flight. There was an announcement on the closed-circuit TV – 'We are sorry to announce that the fligh

Precautionary Guidelines for Mobile Users.

Important for All mobile phone users. Very Useful. Mobile users are advised to take following precautionary measures while using a mobile handset: 1. Keep distance – Hold the cell phone away from body to the extent possible. 2. Use a headset (wired or Bluetooth) to keep the handset away from your head. 3. Do not press the phone handset against your head. Radio Frequency (RF) energy is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the source -- being very close increases energy absorption much more. 4. Limit the length of mobile calls. 5. Use text (SMS) as compared to voice wherever possible. 6. Put the cell phone on speaker mode. 7. Use your phone where reception is good. If the radio signal is weak, a mobile phone will increase its transmission power. Find a strong signal and avoid movement. 8. Metal water are good conductors of radio waves so avoid using a mobile phone while wearing metal-framed glasses or having wet hair. 9. Let the call connect before putting the handse

What is real?

Relying faithfully in the information that our senses transmit is a great way to forget about our eternal nature. What we perceive with our senses is not necessarily real. As a matter of fact, the outside perception is possible only through a referential entity: ourselves, which is made up by our experiences and thoughts. This collection of information gathered through generations, make up a collective consciousness, which becomes the agreement of what is "real." Quantum physics mentions that what we perceive as matter, our bodies and everything else, which are composed of electrons, are particles and waves of light at the same time. Please see that any "truth" which explains life as being just "one thing," is denying the other side of perception. Our physical eyes allow us to perceive matter. Solid particles which get together and make up bigger elements. Our eyes cannot perceive waves of light, which is the other "reality." Aren't we, matte

Factors That Shape Our Perception.

The factors that contribute to creating our perception (way of looking at the self, situations, people, etc.) are our memories, experiences, beliefs, values, people, places, situations and time. Out of all these factors there are two, which are chiefly, responsible for creating our perception: our beliefs and our experiences. The first thing you should do is to have a clearer perception of yourself. You should develop the perception of who you really are and what your true identity is. This does not refer to the image you see every day in the mirror. Your external appearance or physical beauty, your age, your gender, your occupation, your status in society should not be the basis for your self-perception. You may live with others or alone, have a family, run a business or have a job, which you undertake with responsibility. What is your conscience, however, while you are doing these tasks? This will lead you to a clear perception of yourself. We have been brought up and condition

GENTE SIMPLES

PEOPLE THAT SIMPLE Some people carry the eye The brightness of the stars. A huge smile on her lips. In the soul, the sunshine and a heart filled goodness ... To these people I call simplicity. I like people that simple, Those good morning, good afternoon and good night When we speak, we felt embraced by them, Because weave words of comfort. Through which scatter light and Bring with them the label of humility. Beside them are important, They make us feel giants. Are made of the essence of God. People personality, because the truth Only one way to "be". They are so special that when they are away, We want to close, when they are near, We want them forever. I like people that simple!

When you thought I Wasn't Looking.

Be aware of the children around you who note everything you do........and they mostly imbibe When you thought I Wasn't Looking A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say. When you thought I wasn't looking , I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn't looking , I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favourite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life. When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other. When you thought I wasn't looking, I

RED SKELTON'S RECIPE FOR THE PERFECT MARRIAGE.

For those of you old enough to remember Red Skelton, I think you will enjoy this e-mail. For those of you not old enough, you will see what you missed. Either way, his humour was always clean and he was a great entertainer. A re-run of great 'one liners' from the man who was known for his clean humour. I hope you get a chuckle or two reading them once more. 1. Two times a week we go to a nice restaurant, have a little beverage, good food and companionship. She goes on Tuesdays, I go on Fridays. 2. We also sleep in separate beds. Hers is in California , and mine is in Texas .... 3. I take my wife everywhere, but she keeps finding her way back. 4. I asked my wife where she wanted to go for our anniversary. "Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said. So I suggested the kitchen. 5. We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops. 6. She has an electric blender, electric toaster and electric bread maker. She said "There are too many

The Feather.

Near her home by the river under a tree Paula found a feather. Is this your feather? she asked a swan. No, hissed the swan. My feathers are snow white. Here's one of mine. Look through it and you will see the snow-capped mountains of the north and pale, ice-cold skies. The swan swept away. Paula put the white feather in her bag. Further down the bank a moorhen looked after her babies. Whose feather is this? Paula called out to her. I don't know, cackled the moorhen. Have one of my glossy black feathers. Look through it and spy the night sky holding the moon and millions of stars above the world. The moorhen paddled away. Paula put the black feather in her bag. A shy kingfisher peeked out of his hole in the bank. Is this your feather? Paula asked. No My best feathers are sapphire blue. Look through one of mine and see children playing on beaches, palm trees waving to the skies and divers in the deep. Paula put the blue feather in her bag. Along the rugged path by the grassy bank

Forgive them anyway.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centred; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true friends; succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years to building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealousy; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. Give the world your good anyway You see, in the final analysis, it is between You and God; It was never between you and them anyway.                                                                                     --Mother Theresa www.articlesbeam.com

BAR STOOL ECONOMICS.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to #100 and they paid the bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this: The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay #1. The sixth would pay #3. The seventh would pay #7. The eighth would pay #12. The ninth would pay #18. The tenth man (the richest) would pay #59. So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by #20." So drinks for the ten now cost just #80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free...but what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the #20 windfall so that everyone would get his

Drinking water can help shed the pounds.

A pint before the meal keeps the portions down In what could fairly be called a watershed moment, scientists have confirmed that drinking water before a meal helps shed the pounds. Yup, it's that simple. And you don't even have to buy the book. In clinical trials, US researchers found that drinking a pint of water before a meal leads to weight loss. Dr Brenda Davy, an associate professor in human nutrition, who led the study said: "We found in earlier studies that middle aged and older people who drank two cups of water right before eating a meal ate between 75 and 90 fewer calories during that meal. "In this recent study, we found that over the course of 12 weeks, dieters who drank water before meals, three times per day, lost about 5 pounds more than dieters who did not increase their water intake." "People should drink more water and less sugary, high-calorie drinks. It's a simple way to facilitate weight management," Dr Davy adde

Fable of The Hedgehog .

It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The Hedgehogs, realising the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive. The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities. The moral of the story is: Just learn to live with the Pricks in your l

From an Onion

I don't mean to make you cry. I mean nothing, but this has not kept you From peeling away my body, layer by layer, The tears clouding your eyes as the table fills With husks, cut flesh, all the debris of pursuit. Poor deluded human: you seek my heart. Hunt all you want. Beneath each skin of mine Lies another skin: I am pure onion--pure union Of outside and in, surface and secret core. Look at you, chopping and weeping. Idiot. Is this the way you go through life, your mind A stopless knife, driven by your fantasy of truth, Of lasting union--slashing away skin after skin From things, ruin and tears your only signs Of progress? Enough is enough. You must not grieve that the world is glimpsed Through veils. How else can it be seen? How will you rip away the veil of the eye, the veil That you are, you who want to grasp the heart Of things, hungry to know where meaning Lies. Taste what you hold in your hands: onion-juice, Yellow peels, my stinging shreds. You are th

This Too Shall Pass.

UNDERSTAND THIS DEEPLY Once a king called upon all of his wise men and asked them," Is there a mantra or suggestion which works in every situation, in every circumstance, in every place and in every time. In every joy, every sorrow, every defeat and every victory? One answer for all questions? Something which can help me when none of you is available to advise me? Tell me is there any mantra?" All the wise men were puzzled by the King's question. They thought and thought. After a lengthy discussion, an old man suggested something which appealed to all of them. They went to the king and gave him something written on paper, with a condition that the king was not to see it out of curiosity. Only in extreme danger, when the King finds himself alone and there seems to be no way, only then he can see it. The King put the papers under his Diamond ring. Sometime later, the neighbours attacked the Kingdom. King and his army fought bravely but lost the battle. The King had to flee

The Falcon.

Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons from Arabia. They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be trained. Months passed and one day the head falconer informed the king that though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived. The king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the falcon, but no one could make the bird fly. He presented the task to the member of his court, but the next day, the king saw through the palace window that the bird had still not moved from its perch. Having tried everything else, the king thought to himself, "May be I need someone more familiar with the countryside to understand the nature of this problem." So he cried out to his court, "Go and get a farmer." In the morning, the king was thrilled to see the

Cleaning Out the 'Chit' - the Memory Track.

Walking a spiritual path is not always easy but it is utterly satisfying and immensely rewarding. The journey of clearing away the old and the bitter, and moving towards the purest and original part of our core is a beautiful one in which there is a deep fulfilment of the soul that no material pleasure can satisfy. Embedded deep within all souls is the memory of each and every thought, feeling, action and experience, which becomes the reason for creating an overall attitude and awareness in the soul. Since we mostly operate on past references and old comfort zones, we therefore create new deeds based on these prior attitudes and awarenesses. Every time we operate on old patterns of behaviour, we are reinforcing them again and again. Thus, if the experience was a negative one, then the recording will be negative. Then the next round of actions will most likely be negative, and so the pattern continues. The adverse is also true of course. Positive thoughts and actions generate more of th

 A journey to higher self.

A monkey, which leaves the tree and swims in a lake, is inferior to fish. A racehorse kept in a beautiful and posh apartment, is inferior to a rat. A good swordsman given a plough to cultivate a piece of land is inferior to a peasant. In the same way people feel inferior, if they are not awakened to a higher self. 'I am uncomfortable talking to people, I can't mix with people, I feel diffident in getting jobs done from others, I am an introvert. How can you help me?' a lady asked a Guru. The art of living is about balancing. We have to balance our work, home, and mind. We should balance being outer winners and inner winners. Reflect on this. A wood cutter was toiling to earn two meals a day. He met a monk. The monk advised him, 'Drop being at the edge of the forest and go into the forest. Your daily hours of work will fetch you one month's food.' The wood cutter followed the advice. Deep within the forest, he found sandalwood trees. He was very happy. He expre

No one escapes T. N.

Politicians are bad, bureaucrats are spineless and partial, history taught in schools is rubbish, businessmen fuel corruption in politics, public sector is tragic, journalists are the worst of the lot, "sold for a bottle of whisky;" and the judiciary, "I'm not allowed to speak." Thus spoke the Chief Election Commissioner in a thundering two – hour sermon to the students of the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) at Ghaziabad on Wednesday. Mr. Seshan was invited by the students to speak on he role of business houses in elections. Mr. Seshan reiterated his views on his erstwhile colleagues of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) but singled out those from UP and Bihar. "They have no moral fibre; from the Chief Secretary down to the Patwari in the village, no one is impartial," he said."Their backbone is comprehensively broken; and nowhere is it as comprehensively broken as in UP and Bihar." The former civil servant went on to conclude t

Toilets, Temples, Modi and Development.

Some months ago, this writer met a regional co-coordinator of an NGO which focuses on sanitation in rural areas. During the course of a casual conversation, he complained that each village family spends more than Rs. 10,000 for festivals annually, but is not ready to spend Rs. 3000 for building a toilet. The writer felt outraged at this linking of toilets and the celebration of divinities. A few months back this writer had gone to Tirupati and performed Kalyana Utsavam. After performing the utsavam and waiting for darshan of the Lord, he saw a lady allowing her child to urinate in one corner. This brings out the difficulty faced by those waiting in temple queues for hours on end and really felt for not knowing how the archakas relieve themselves. But the fact is we give the last preference to toilets while building a personal dwelling or our cities. I know of a well built house in a large town that does not have toilet and they relieve themselves in the open! Much of the health prob

If you change the world changes.

Have you heard those words before? How is it possible? Please ask the above question to whoever says those words you will be surprised at their answer. When you change, the world changes, sounds whimsical, a nice thing to say in religious gatherings to look good and to talk the talk, nevertheless, in the understanding of those words lies the perception of a greater reality, greater understanding which if truly understood, could change our own life. Would you like an explanation? Here it goes. In a basic understanding of the law of karma, (action) we can understand that if you do something, there will be a repercussion which will be experienced by me. That is why in this basic understanding all we care about is about me. If I do this, will I get any bad karma back? If I open karmic accounts now, would that be bad for me? Would I go to heaven if my actions are good? The above only strengthens the personality of which is separated from everything else. No? Do you ever feel alone? Yes? Then

The World is Mine.

Today, upon a bus, I saw a very beautiful woman, And wished I were as beautiful. When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle. She had one leg and wore a crutch. But as she passed, she passed a smile. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have two legs; the world is mine. I stopped to buy some candy, The lad who sold it had such charm, I talked with him, he seemed so glad, If I were late, it'd do no harm. And as I left, he said to me, "I thank you, you've been so kind. It's nice to talk with folks like you. You see," he said, "I'm blind." Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have two eyes; the world is mine. Later while walking down the street, I saw a child I knew. He stood and watched the others play, but he did not know what to do. I stopped a moment and then I said, "Why don't you join them dear?" He looked ahead without a word, I forgot, he couldn't hear. Oh, God, forgive me when I

Age activated attention Deficit Disorder - Funny.

This is how it manifests:     I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.   As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier.   I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.   I lay my car keys on the table, Put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, And notice that the can is full.   So, I decide to put the bills back On the table and take out the garbage first...   But then I think, Since I'm going to be near the mailbox When I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.   I take my check book off the table, And see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, So I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.   I'm going to look for my checks, But first I need to push the Pepsi aside So that I don't accidentally knock it over.

Today is a fine day.

Husband to wife: Today is a fine day.   Next day he says: Today is a fine day.   Again next day, he says same thing: Today is a fine day.   Finally after a week, the wife can't take it and asks her husband:  Since one week, you are saying this 'Today is a fine day'. I am fed up. What's the matter?   Husband: Last week when we had an argument, you said , 'I will leave you one fine day.' I was just trying to remind you. www.articlesbeam.com

Dare to be Yourself.

"Your only obligation in any life time is to be true to yourself. Being true to anyone else or anything else is not only impossible, but the mark of a fake mission." --Richard Boch "I was strolling in the gardens of an insane asylum when I met a young man who was reading a philosophy book. His behaviour and his evident good health made him stand out from the other inmates. I sat down beside him and asked, "What are you doing here?" He looked at me, surprised, but seeing that I was not the one of the doctors, he replied, 'It's very simple. My father, a brilliant lawyer, wanted me to be like him. My uncle, who owns a large emporium, hoped I would follow his example. My mother wanted me to be the image of her beloved father. My sister always set her husband before me as an example of a successful man. My brother tried to train me up to be a fine athlete like himself. And at the same thing happened at school, with the piano teacher and English teache

Acceptance and Appreciation.

Life is open just like a door. When we label ourselves as doors, and when we become conscious of our own labelling; then we create the personality of a door and the opportunity to close that door. We become selective. This is good this is bad. This hurts me, this is ok. I like this. I don't like that. All of that means closing the door and opening the door according to that created personality. Acceptance means to be part of life, not separated from it. Acceptance is to observe, watch, acknowledge, then we can appreciate. Ravi wakes up. He goes right to the coffee machine. He serves himself some coffee in a small cup. He spills the coffee on the floor. Ravi gets upset. He makes his small tantrum of the day with some sort of jerky jumping and by automatically selecting 4 letter words to express his frustration. Ravi cannot accept the fact of spilling coffee. Every action has a consequence. Ravi will need to clean up his mess. The question is: What is the usefulness of getting upset?

Disheartenment to Cheerfulness.

Don't engage too many thoughts on the 'reasons' behind situations; Work on the solutions. Maintain elevated good feelings for the family and world Their nature should not change your sanskars. Use the course of realisation to end yours and others' weaknesses. Your right mind hold all the answers My cheerful face will end the sorrow of others and spread peace. Cheerfulness is the result of diving into true knowledge. My face can bloom when I maintain an spiritual stage and spiritual outlook. Look closely at your personality: remember whose child you are. The nourishment of happiness makes us strong on the service field. I can only share when my treasure-store of happiness is full. Do not accept even a 'pinch of sorrow' from people or situations. Follow God's elevated teachings and you will never have to lower your head. Inner stability means neither arrogance nor low self-esteem. Visualise the world through your Third Eye and as Knower of Three

Alignment in action, thought and feelings

As we are used to reacting to things in automatic pilot, we are missing the opportunity to check the way we interact with the outside world which will have a return in the inside. Let us say that Chand is a belligerent employee. His supervisor, Tim; acts in a very professional manner. Tim tries to reason with Chand. Tim does not act bossy with his subordinate because Tim is aware of the repercussions in his job. Nevertheless, that performance of Tim to look professional has its own return. Tim feels rejection towards Chand s behavior. Tim is sick and tired of Chand s attitude. Tim is building a case to dismiss Chand, but in the meantime he feels that there is a lot to put up with. The performance of being a professional is eating up the insides of Tim. If it wasn t because of the work setting, Tim would tell Chand many things that he is currently repressing. This venom is creating havoc in Tim s health. If Tim could realize that this interaction is just a game in the workplace, Tim cou

Peaceful co-existence.

- (published in "The Hindu" dated 22.03.2012) Often we find that we are unable to get on with our parents, or siblings, or spouses. The reason is no one is without the thought of self. No one is without an ego. So there is bound to be friction when people are thrown about in each other's company for a long time. But what then is the solution? Should one shun one's relatives, in the desire to avoid friction? How much importance should we give to our independence? The refusal to make even minor adjustments to accommodate one's own family has led to members of a family not even keeping in touch with each other. Siblings who grew up together, no longer tolerate each other, when they are adults. It is sad when they can hardly bear to be in the company of their extended family for long. But we must learn the art of peaceful co-existence, Suki Sivam stressed in a discourse. Children of the present era use the word 'self- reliant' with abandon, thinking that human

Your Bottled Water Has 24,500 Chemicals How it's screwing up your hormones.

Water bottles. Paying $2 for a bottle of water may be more convenient than lugging around your reusable one, but that seemingly small price may have a big impact on your health. German researchers found nearly 25,000 chemicals in a single bottle of water, some of which act like potent pharmaceuticals in your body, according to a study just published in the journal PLoS One. The study's authors purchased 18 different samples of commercially sold bottled water from France, Italy, and Germany. Using various methods of chemical analysis, they tested the water for its ability to interfere with the body's estrogen and androgen (testosterone and other male reproductive hormone) receptors. The researchers threw in a sample of tap water to act as a sort of ringer, and the results were stunning. The majority of bottled waters tested interfered with both kinds of hormone receptors to some degree; amounts as little as 0.1 ounces inhibited estrogenic activity by 60% and androgenic activity

ANSWERS COME IN DIFFERENT FORMS.

When my mother took me out of high school I knew that my life would become difficult because we were taught that you have to have an education to make it in life. Since I was only 16 I really started feeling hopeless in life because I didn't know what I was going to do. I worked to help my mother pay bills and that was all I could do at the time. Then she started telling me that when I turn 18 I had to get out of the house. I couldn't understand what was going on because my brother was older than I was and she didn't want to kick him out. As I started nearing my 18th birthday I was really beginning to feel hopeless because I didn't have an idea on what I was going to do.          One night while I was watching television a commercial came on about joining the Navy. The next day I called the number on the commercial and set up an appointment to meet the recruiter. When he heard about me not having a high school diploma he knew I had a slim chance. I explained to him th

HOW SHE FOUND TRUE LOVE.

Well I am 18 and had been seeing my boyfriend (John) for about 2 months, i thought that it was love and the relationship moved very fast and he decided that we should take the extra step and get engaged even though we had only been together for 2 months! I felt very uneasy about his proposal as we also lived very far away from each other. When i said no to his proposal, because i didn't see the rush, he hit me and told me i was stupid! The abuse went on for a little while until i really couldn't take anymore, i knew that he was cheating on me too and so i decided to leave him. I managed to leave with only a few bruises and went home to my mum. My mum asked what had happened but i didn't tell her. In the following weeks after splitting up with John i was very withdrawn and upset, i felt used, cheap, hurt and angry and i also felt that i would never be able to trust another man again, i stopped going out and my parents were getting really worried about me. That month i didn&#

NOT THE QUANTITY BUT THE QUALITY.

The old man turned to me and asked  "How many friends have you?"  Why? 10 or 20 friends have I,  And named off just a few...  He rose quite slow with effort  And sadly shook his head  "A lucky child you are  To have so many friends," he said  But think of what you're saying  There is so much you do not know  A friend is just not someone  To whom you say "Hello".      A friend's a tender shoulder  On which to softly cry  A well to pour your troubles down  And raise your spirits high  A friend is a hand to pull you up  From darkness and despair...  When all your other "so called" friends  Have helped to put you there  A true friend is an ally  Who can't be moved or bought  A voice to keep your name alive  When others have forgot  But most of all a friend is a heart  A strong and sturdy wall  For from the hearts of friends  There comes the greatest love of all!!!  So think of what I've spoken

DO U FEEL THERE AIN'T HOPE?

In your times of deep despair, Do you feel there is no hope? As the darkness closes in on you, Do you feel you cannot cope?  As you struggle on through every trial, Do you say "When will it end"? As you cry yourself to sleep at night, Do you wish you had a friend?  When your body's racked with aches and pains, Do you feel you are alone? When you think about the future, Do you fear the great unknown?  There is someone who really cares, And He hears your every cry. His arms are reaching out to you, And on Him you can rely.  When things close in around you, He sees your fear and doubt - He wants to hold you in His arms, And He will never cast you out.  As you stumble through the darkness, He will be your guiding light. He wants to wipe away your tears, For you are precious in His sight.  Reach out right now to God, And let Him take complete control - He'll take that heavy burden, And He'll touch and make you whole.  He'
