Google Algorithm & Search Results Shuffling .

Google is updating their search results, it is in flux, search results are shuffling around. But I only try to report it when the signals all seem to be higher than the normal day to day shuffles. I always see people complaining about changes in Google but when it reaches certain levels, that is when I decide to cover it. The ongoing  WebmasterWorld  thread has a spike in complaints from webmasters and SEOs about ranking shuffles and the automated tracking tools also show huge changes. Here are some comments from the threads: This week was the worst week we have seen from google since panda 4. With all other updates we gained traffic but this one hit us with >50%. Sales form google organics, adwords and Shopping ads are off by 95%. We have seen the same. We've grown massively over the past few months and this week we have lost ranking from positions 2/3 to 5/6. Its impacted us dramatically. I've noted some interesting changes in the SERPs this week. Backdoor Found in WordPress Plugin

For the past two and a half months, a WordPress plugin named Display Widgets has been used to install a backdoor on WordPress sites across the Internet. The backdoor code was found between Display Widgets version 2.6.1 (released June 30) and version 2.6.3 (released September 2). The WordPress.org team has intervened and removed the plugin from the official WordPress Plugins repository. At the time it was removed, the plugin was installed on more than 200,00 sites, albeit we cannot be sure how many of these were updated to a version that included the malicious behavior. More surprising is that WordPress.org staff members removed the plugin three times before for similar violations. A history of events is compiled below, put together with data aggregated from three different investigations by  David Law ,  White Fir Design , and  Wordfence . No Sense in Banning Cryptocurrencies’

Finance minister has revealed plans to regulate the use of cryptocurrencies in the country, rather than ban them, by the end of the year. Speaking at a financial forum in Moscow, Russian finance minister Anton Siluanov revealed the government’s significantly-shifting stance on regulatory and legal future of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin in the country. After years of Russian authorities preparing drafts to outlaw and even criminalize adoption and mining of cryptocurrencies, Russia is now pressing ahead with plans for regulating and, in effect, legalizing cryptocurrencies in the Russian Federation. As quoted by  Reuters , Siluanov stated: The state understands indeed that cryptocurrencies are real. There is no sense in banning them, there is a need to regulate them. Individuals or firms looking to buy virtual currencies will have to register themselves under soon-to-be-enforced laws that will also detail a procedure for buying bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, Siluanov added. BMW Aims to Cut Parts Costs by $2.4 Billion in E-Car Shift

BMW AG  aims to cut roughly 2 billion euros ($2.4 billion) from its annual purchasing bill by squeezing spending on transmission components and other parts to help finance the shift to electric cars. Amid plans to roll out at least 12 electric cars by 2025, Munich-based BMW is seeking to trim about 5 percent from costs for car parts alone, which currently totals about 40 billion euros yearly, Markus Duesmann, head of purchasing, said late Wednesday in an interview. That compares with a cumulative  4 billion-euro  reduction that competitor  Daimler AG is seeking in fixed costs, research and development spending and capital expenditures. BMW, Mercedes-Benz owner Daimler and  Volkswagen AG  are projecting that battery-powered vehicles could comprise more than a quarter of their sales by the middle of next decade. The German carmakers are pushing for cost reductions to offset weaker margins for electric cars, which Stuttgart-based Daimler estimates could have just half the profitability
