Oduah In Fresh Mess As US College Denies Awarding Masters Programme She Included In CV [SaharaRepoters]

Did embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, deliberately pad up her educational qualifications or is she the victim of high-wired orchestrated moves to remove her office? This and many more will be the question on the lips of many as her integrity has come under public scrutiny once again following the denial by a United States school which supposedly awarded her a Masters’ Degree, that it does not award post-graduate degrees.
Her resume, which she presented to the Senate as a ministerial nominee in 2011 indicated she obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Paul’s College Lawrenceville, Virginia, United States.

But a report by SaharaReporters has revealed that the college has never in its 125-year history had a graduate school or graduate program.

According to SaharaReporters while making inquiries, the Provost Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Vice President of Institutional Development said, “We don’t offer any graduate programs here”.

It also said the school’s website does not expressly make mention of graduate degrees.

“Saint Paul’s College is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate [bachelor’s] degrees”, the website read.

Oduah’s documentation shows she received an undergraduate degree in accounting from the college in 1982, but Dr. Claud Flythe, St. Paul’s current president, could neither confirm nor deny this during a phone conversation with SaharaReporters.  Further verification with the Office of Alumni Affairs is also currently impossible, according to the online news medium because the college has been closed since June 2013 to loss of its accreditation.

“[Oduah] realized very early in life the indispensability of a sound education in her growth plans in life and therefore pursued her education with all diligence and sense of purpose,” her documents claimed, adding that a determination “to have the best education at the highest level” prompted her stay at the Virginia College in 1983 for the MBA programme.

As at the time of filing this report, the minister was yet to respond to this latest round of allegation against her.

Google Authenticator, a formidable layer of protection to your account.

Google Authenticator is a free security app that can protect your accounts against password theft. It's easy to set up and can be used in a process called two-factor authentication (2FA) offered on popular social media services like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.  The app ( iOS / Android ) generates a random code used to verify your identity when you're logging into various services. The code can technically be sent to your phone via text message every time— but the Google Authenticator app provides an extra level of security.  SMS-based 2FA has a  known security flaw , and any devoted hacker can attempt to  socially engineer  an attack against your phone company. The Google Authenticator app eliminates the possibility of an SMS-based attack  using algorithms  to generate the codes on your phone. Here's how to set it up: 1. Download Google Authenticator from either the Apple App Store or the Android Google Play store. It's free. 2. Nex...

Google, harder to search for results from other countries

For a long time, there was an easy way to conduct a Google search in a country other than the one you’re in. If you wanted to get results specific to Japan, for instance, you would visit www.google.co.jp; to get Australian results you would visit www.google.com.au — but this trick no longer works. Google has announced that it will now always serve up results that are relevant to the country that you’re in, regardless of the country code top level domain names (ccTLD) you use. The reason given is a little bizarre. The search giant says that the change has been introduced because of the way people are using the search engine these days. It says: “around one in five searches on Google is related to location, so providing locally relevant search results is an essential part of serving you the most accurate information.” The argument seems counterintuitive, however. Anyone who has changed the ccTLD has done so consciously, and for a reason — for Google to override this decision is strange...
