The new management of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) on
Monday in Lagos pledged to make its operations people oriented and value
driven.
IKEDC said that it was making the pledge after series of consultations with various electricity consumers in its 11 areas of jurisdiction.
The districts are Abule Egba, Akowonjo, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Ikotun, Odojunyan, Ogba, Ojodo, Somolu, Oshodi and Ipaja.
IKEDC, in statement signed by Pekun Adeyanju, the Assistant General Manager (Public Affairs), said the meetings were part of efforts to establish roadmap towards uninterrupted power supply in 2014.
It said meetings also identified the need for public support and understanding through sustained consumer education that portrayed the true state of power distribution.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that NEDC/KEPCO Consortium emerged as the new owners of the former Ikeja Distribution Company following the transfer of PHCN assets to private investors on November1, 2013.
NEDC is the New Electricity Distribution Company, while KEPCO, a technical partner, is Korean Electric Power Corporation.
The statement also quoted Alex Kim, KEPCO Manager in Charge of Transmission and Distribution Business, as saying that the company was committed to instituting positive change in the power sector.
Kim said that his optimism stemmed from KEPCO’s preparedness to deploy new technology, focus on capacity building and world-class customer service.
